Cookie policy
Last updated: 23 August 2026. This page explains what cookies and similar technologies diox-digital.ro uses, for what purpose, how long they stay on your device, and how you can change your choice at any time.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser when you visit it. They let the site remember things about your visit: your theme preference, the fact that you already answered the consent banner or, in the case of analytics cookies, how the pages are used. Cookies cannot run programs and cannot access other files on your device.
Alongside cookies, this site also uses localStorage, a similar mechanism through which the browser keeps certain settings locally. We treat it with the same transparency rules, which is why it is described in this policy next to cookies.
Session cookies and persistent cookies
By lifetime, identifiers fall into two categories. Session cookies exist only while your browser is open and disappear when you close it. Persistent cookies (and localStorage entries) stay on the device until they expire or until you delete them, so the site can remember your preferences between visits.
What diox-digital.ro actually uses
The site is deliberately built with a minimal set of identifiers. Here is the complete list, by category:
1. Strictly necessary (always active)
Without these the site cannot work properly. They collect no marketing information and, under the law, need no consent.

2. Analytics / measurement (only with your consent)
These help us understand how the site is used: which pages are visited, where visitors come from, what works and what does not. The tool used for this is Google Analytics 4, through Google Tag Manager. The specific cookies (for example _ga and _ga_*, lasting up to 2 years) are set only after you accept the Analytics category in the banner. Data is collected in aggregate form; we do not use it to identify you personally.
3. Advertising (only with your consent)
This category covers signals for advertising platforms (for example, measuring campaign conversions). The site currently runs no campaigns that would set such cookies; if that changes, they will activate only for visitors who accepted the Advertising category, and this policy will be updated with the concrete identifiers.
4. Personalization (only with your consent)
Signals used to adapt content to your preferences. Currently the only real personalization is the visual theme, which works through the strictly-necessary localStorage entry; the category exists in the banner for transparency and granular control.
How consent works (Consent Mode v2)
On your first visit, all analytics and advertising signals start defaulted to "denied": nothing is measured until you give your consent. Your banner choice (Accept all / Refuse / Preferences) is transmitted through Google Consent Mode v2 and stored locally. Refusing is as easy as accepting, and the site works identically either way.
How to change your choice
Any time, in three ways:
- From the buttons below, right on this page
- From the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of any page
- By deleting the site data from your browser, in which case the banner reappears on your next visit
What happens if you refuse
Nothing bad. The site works identically, every page and the contact form stay fully usable. The only difference is that your visit does not appear in our traffic statistics, so we cannot know which pages were useful to you. We do not condition access to any content on accepting cookies and we do not use cookie walls.
Legal framework
Cookie use is governed by the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC, transposed in Romania through Law 506/2004) and, where personal data is processed through cookies, by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR). The basis for strictly necessary cookies is the legitimate interest of providing a working site; for every other category, the basis is your explicit consent, given through the banner. Consent can be withdrawn at any time, as easily as it was given.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers can send "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signals. Independently of these signals, the site takes a stricter approach than they require: measurement is off by default for everyone and starts exclusively through your explicit action in the banner.

You can also view, block or delete cookies from your browser settings. Official instructions: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Microsoft Edge. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies can affect how the contact form works.
Third-party cookies
When the Analytics category is accepted, measurement cookies are set by Google, as the provider of Google Analytics, according to its own cookie policy. The site loads no other third-party scripts that set cookies.
Updates and contact
